Standard Valuations' Consultants have an intimate knowledge of the special needs and concerns of Pension Funds. They can provide information and insights which assist Trustees in establishing or altering investment objectives, in the selection of Investment Managers and Custodians, asset allocation, portfolio analysis and the Base Manager Discipline concept.
Since the Consultants think in the long term, and since changing Investment Managers can be an expensive proposition, they do not encourage it, but stay wary on behalf of the Trustees, when changes are needed. The Consultants believe the best performance is attained by clearly communicating a fund's goals and objectives to a qualified Base team of managers and closely monitoring for and reporting to the Trustees, the activities of the fund's managers.
When it is appropriate to change or add managers, Standard Valuations assists in conducting a thorough search. Any Investment Manager the Trustees wish to consider is included. Standard Valuations does not pick the managers, however, at the request of the Trustees, our Consultants will suggest additional managers they feel would make a positive addition for the fund. Research is provided including information regarding each manager's methods, style, philosophy, personnel, research capabilities, parent and subsidiary company involvement, and fees.
Standard Valuations assists in conducting manager interviews, taking the role of question maker for the Trustees, contract review, and determination of investment objectives.
Standard Valuations' Consultants assist Trustees in establishing or altering investment objectives and in understanding the investments the fund holds. Standard Valuations' Consultants provide insight and information necessary for informed judgment by the Trustees for the benefit of the participants. |
