Standard Valuations provides formal quarterly reports to the board of trustees which
include:
- review of
investment guidelines, policy and objectives and suggest changes if necessary
or as appropriate.
- display
historical asset allocation by manager and asset category as well as historical
rates of return.
- compare
rates of return against common indexes
for each manager and for the total fund using standard time periods. (last
quarter, ytd, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, 5 years 8 years and inception).
- show net
contributions and withdrawals, realized gains and losses, interest and
dividends received and appreciation or depreciation for standard time periods.
- examine the
current activity of each money manager regarding asset allocation changes and
turnover.
- review all
common stock trades by each manager showing total commissions paid, commission
cost per share, quality of trades and brokerage firms used.
- measure
risk adjusted returns of all accounts comparing through charts and tables against
peer group managers, appropriate benchmarks, etc.
- disclose
the managers with whom you are being compared, and
- display
manager fees on a comparative basis
- investment
manager searches and custodian searches are conducted upon request
When it is appropriate to change or add managers, standard
valuations assists in conducting a thorough search. Any investment manager the trustees wish to
consider is included. Standard valuations
does not pick the managers, however, at the request of the trustees, our consultants
will suggest additional managers they feel would make a positive addition for
the fund. Research is provided including
information regarding each manager's methods, style, philosophy, personnel,
research capabilities, parent and subsidiary company involvement, and fees.
Additional information will be provided on topics such as:
- commission
recapture
- soft
dollars
- securities
lending
- asset
liability models
- optional
investment strategies and direct investments.
We also offer portfolio analysis and asset allocation
studies if required. This would be an additional fee.
